Tropical fish aquarium

Tropical fish aquarium obviously is a fish aquarium for tropical fish, but there are two different kinds of fish, saltwater and freshwater. Each need to be treated differently! A saltwater fish needs saltwater and the salt needs to be at a regulated level along with the PH and the temperature. A freshwater fish needs to have fresh purified water. Both of the aquariums need good bacteria, which helps to keep the aquarium clean.

Tropical fish aquariums that contain salt water can only be used for saltwater fish. Please, do not put any freshwater fish in it, as they will die! Saltwater fish are able to stand the levels of salt; actually the salt is essential for their breathing and movement. Without the presence of salt in the water, the fish would die of suffocation. Saltwater aquarium also needs to have “living” rocks, these rocks contain good bacteria, which are essential for the fish to live. Before putting any fish in the aquarium, you need to leave the rocks in it for at least two months. After that it is safe to add the fish.

Freshwater fish aquariums are for fish that need clear and clean water. This water should be chlorine and ammonia free. The freshwater tank needs to be setup and cycling for at least four weeks, before adding any fish to the aquarium. This will help the bacteria to build and make sure the levels of ammonia are kept to a bare minimum. Ammonia is a substance that will kill your freshwater fish, as it makes breathing very hard for them. When you notice your fish at the top of the aquarium, struggling to breathe, this is an indication that your fish aquarium has very high levels of ammonia. When this happens, you do not have to change the water; but you need to clean the filter in some of the tank water, (of course in a separate bowl) and then put it back within a day. After that the water will be in a much better condition. To be able to check your levels or nutrients, before you put in the fish, I recommend you to buy a water test kit. They are not expensive, but are of great help.

Tropical fish aquarium look great in any kind of house! Just think carefully about deciding to take one. They may be fish, but those fish are also living beings, which need to be taken care of. It will take some work and responsibility!
